Greetings Parents!
I am pleased to have your child(ren) in our school this 2017-2018 school term.
In order to guarantee your child and all the students in our school the excellent educational climate they deserve, we will tolerate no student stopping teachers from teaching nor any student stopping another from learning.
Parents, you are your child’s first teacher!
P articipate! in school activities. Visit your child’s classroom. Consult with your child’s
teacher. Get involved with the school in every way you can. Lend a helping hand!
A dmire! your child for being him/herself! Build up his/her strengths and help him/her
improve weaknesses. Let them know you love them for what he/she is…Your Child!
R ead! with your child: street signs, billboards, store windows, grocery lists, directions,
maps, newspapers, cartoons. See that he/she spends as much time reading as watching
television.
E ncourage! your child to develop hobbies and interests such as sports, music, collections,
etc.
N ote! your child’s progress with verbal praise and a pat on the shoulder. Let them know
you’re proud of their progress, every time they progress even just a little bit. ALWAYS BE
POSITIVE.
T alk! with your child about school, reading, his/her interests, their friends, places you go
together, things you do together. Encourage your child to ask questions and answer
questions.
S upport! your child’s need and desire to learn to read and enjoy reading by following all of
the above-listed suggestions.
I pray that this message will prove helpful as we work together for the success of your child this school year.
Welcome!
Mrs. Audrey Austin White
